Hygiene & prevention
Did you know that you should brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day? Were you aware that flossing and mouthwash help prevent gum disease by reducing the harmful effects of bacteria?
Bacterial plaque contributes to decay, gum disease and bad breath. Our hygienists Diane Angell and Gail Braine will remove hard plaque that can build up between visits keeping you and your mouth healthy, looking good and smelling fresh.
The most important thing that our hygienists, Diane and Gail, do is to help you develop skills for using the right dental care tools in the correct way. For a really healthy mouth it's vital to remove every last trace of bacterial plaque from every surface of every tooth every day - and for most adults this remains a life-long challenge. Diane and Gail expertly advises which brushes, sticks and flosses suit your teeth and circumstances, and how to use them to best effect in even the trickiest mouths. They are passionate about plaque removal skills, as they know only too well that a plaque-free mouth is likely to stay strong and healthy for life. Plaque is still the number one cause of tooth decay, gum disease and tooth loss, and they would like to knock these problems on the head.
Dental health can also be improved by cutting out smoking, and understanding which foods and drinks to limit. Diane and gail can offer assistance and advice in both circumstances.
Want to improve the appearance of your teeth? Ask about our Optident Air Flow system which effortlessly and painlessly removes stains (often caused by smoking, coffee or red wine). Diane and Gail can have stained teeth looking much-improved in just one session.
